The Deptford Saints is an ongoing recording project, with sessions taking place at APM Multimedia's Plumstead Studios. Combining the energy and rhythms of Mississippi with the sounds of inner-city London, wailing harmonica and slide guitar, the Saints stand in the great tradition of Muddy Waters and Howlin Wolf, but add funk and reggae touches and contemporary production and sequencing/sampling techniques. Driving, dirty, riff-driven - it doesn't sound like Eric Clapton, that's for damn sure.
Recording is underway, and tracks will be placed up here as they become available - meanwhile download the jook's solo delta songs and/or the Yella Cross The Dog albums for free here on Lazy Bear!
