The Lazy Bear wears a straw hat to protect him from the sun, and sits in a comfy chair under a nice shade tree, with a cold one and a little CD player. He's choosy, though, when it comes to music. He doesn't like just any old thing - no sir, it needs to be something genuine and a little bit different for the Bear. He'd rather go to work than listen to Pop Idol or hip hop.
He likes a good voice, a well-played guitar and a song. Remember songs? The Lazy Bear does.



The Bear has found some bands that he likes, playing his kind of music - genre isn't the most important thing, quality is. There are free downloads, and CDs to buy, if you want to. Doesn't matter if you don't want to buy anything just now - have a listen and come back any time you like. You're welcome at the Bear's place.

The Bear buys Fairtrade coffee and bananas, and now he thinks it's time for a bit of fair trade for musicians. So Lazy Bear is a musicians' co-operative - you buy the CD direct from the artist and they receive all the sale price. Sounds simple ? It is. And the Bear thinks that the benefits should be obvious to everyone. The musicians and the music lovers both get a better deal, because we're cutting out the middle man.
The Bear thinks that because he's not looking to make a profit on this, he can be more objective, and present you with music that's a little bit more interesting, a little less disposable.
The Bear's standards are higher than a conventional label, not lower - try sending us a mediocre collection of tuneless songs and see if the Bear accepts it.
